Meet David Pyle: From missing opportunities to becoming a philanthropic golfing champion
David Pyle, Class of 2028, chose USPA for its flexibility and global access.
About David Pyle
David is an avid junior golfer with a passion for giving back. His love for golf began at age 6 when he started playing at Brookhaven Country Club alongside his close friend doubles partner, and fellow USPA student, Connor Bryce. Now, David uses his talent to give back to his community, raising over $84,000 for a youth golf development organization and the Osteosarcoma Institute in 2025 alone.
What was school like before USPA?
While David enjoyed school, the strict class schedules made traveling for competitions a challenge. Frustrated by having to choose between his education and growing sporting career, David decided to investigate online schooling, hoping to find a school that understood the challenges he faced as an elite student-athlete.
Why did David join USPA?
The flexibility to create his own schedule and the global access that USPA offers meant David could travel further to competitions without the stress of rushing back home for school. With the additional time David has gained, he is now able to travel stress-free to out-of-state competitions, taking his career to new heights. This newfound balance also gives him the space to explore his passion for philanthropy.
What’s next for David?
Now a sponsored athlete, David has achieved several noteworthy wins in recent months, claiming the title at TPC Danzante Bay Dynamic Duo Classic alongside Connor Bryce and an individual victory at the Traditions Spring Invitational.
Looking into the future, David hopes to continue this success, claiming more championships across the country. He also plans to build on the success of his recent fundraising events, working with local agencies to bring awareness and support to those who need it most.
Being a USPA student has given me the freedom to travel to competitions in different states without worrying about missing classes or assignments. I am grateful to the USPA and my learning coach for the support they have shown me, not just in my education, but also in my sport. Without them, I wouldn’t have the platform I now have that has allowed me to give back to my community and raise awareness about worthwhile causes.” - David Pyle
