Meet Gabby Boday: From schedule stress to national snowboarding champion

Gabby Boday, Class of 2028, chose USPA for its flexibility and support to pursue elite snowboarding.

About Gabby Boday

Gabriella “Gabby” Boday is a dedicated student-athlete who strives to balance academic excellence with elite-level competitive snowboarding. Specializing in slopestyle and big air, Gabby is a former USASA National Champion. At just 14 years old, she was nominated to be a member of the Hydro Flask U.S. Snowboard Rookie Team.

Gabby manages rigorous training schedules, travels for international competitions, and completes her coursework with strong time management and commitment.

She represents her school community with pride, demonstrating leadership through hard work, perseverance, and a positive attitude. Whether competing on the international stage or focusing on her studies, she exemplifies dedication, resilience, and sportsmanship.

Her long-term goals include continuing to compete at the highest levels of snowboarding while pursuing higher education and giving back to the next generation of athletes.

What was school like before USPA?

Before joining USPA, it was extremely challenging to balance school and competition. Juggling academics while traveling for events was demanding, particularly with limited flexibility in my schedule. Gabby had a set schedule to meet with teachers in person or via Zoom to stay on track, often sacrificing training time or adjusting her travel schedule to meet academic commitments. USPA gives her the flexibility and support to continue being a high-level athlete.

Why did Gabby join USPA?

“I chose USPA for its flexibility and supportive academic environment. The teachers understand the demands of training and competing at a high level, as well as the challenges of a hectic schedule. They are supportive and consistently available when extra help is needed.”

What’s next for Gabby Boday?

Gabby is already making waves in snowboarding. She’s a member of the 2025–26 Hydro Flask U.S. Snowboard Rookie Slopestyle and Big Air Team, the reigning USASA National Champion, and has multiple Nor-Am podium finishes—including a slopestyle victory and the National Slopestyle Championship title at Copper Mountain. Her sights are set on continuing to dominate the sport and inspire the next generation of snowboarders.

Being a student at USPA while training with the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team has allowed me to pursue both my academic and athletic dreams without compromise. The flexibility and support from USPA makes it possible for me to travel, train, and compete at the highest level—while staying on track with my education." – Gabby Boday
