Meet Coco Curry: From homeschooling to Division I rowing
Coco Curry, Class of 2025, chose USPA for its flexibility and supportive learning environment.
About Coco Curry
Coco joined USPA as a sophomore with big dreams of rowing at the collegiate level. She wanted an academic experience that would allow her to train rigorously while staying on track for college admissions.
What was school like before USPA?
Before USPA, Coco was homeschooling, but she needed a more structured and supportive system to ensure a smooth transition from high school to college. Balancing academics with intense rowing training was challenging without a flexible-yet-rigorous program.
Why did Coco join USPA?
Coco chose USPA for its online flexibility and dedicated staff. The ability to create her own schedule allowed her to prioritize rowing while meeting her academic goals. USPA enriched her high school experience by providing an uplifting environment and personalized support from teachers and learning coaches who understood her athletic ambitions.
What’s next for Coco Curry?
Coco’s hard work paid off—she achieved her goal of becoming a Division I rower at the University of Alabama. Her story shows how USPA empowers student-athletes to thrive both academically and athletically.
This online academy has been the greatest blessing for me as a student-athlete these past three years. The flexibility offered by an online platform allowed me to create my own schedule and prioritize my sport while also supporting my academic goals and pursuits. USPA really enriched my high school experience and created a fun, uplifting environment where I could thrive with goals of pursuing collegiate rowing. My favorite part about USPA, however, besides the amazing flexibility, was definitely the team of incredible staff and teachers who are all so dedicated to supporting students through their academic as well as athletic goals. I am so grateful for all that USPA has done to help me reach my goal of becoming a Division I rower." – Coco Curry
