Meet Allison Mollin: From classroom stress to World Cup skiing

Allison Mollin, Class of 2022, chose USPA for its flexibility and ability to support student-athletes.

About Allison Mollin

Known as “A-MO,” Allison is a speed skier from Palisades Tahoe. She joined USPA to balance her academic responsibilities with her intense training schedule. When she’s not racing down slopes, Allison loves biking and spending time outdoors.

What was school like before USPA?

Before USPA, Allison struggled to find time for prime morning training while keeping up with school deadlines. Traditional schooling made it difficult to compete at the highest level without sacrificing academics.

Why did Allison join USPA?

Allison wanted an option that allowed her to train and compete without constant stress about school. USPA provided the flexibility to complete courses at her own pace, including taking summer classes to lighten her winter load. This approach gave her more energy for skiing and less stress compared to her peers.

What’s next for Allison Mollin?

After graduating in 2022, Allison joined the Stifel U.S. Alpine Ski Team for the 2023–24 season. She is a U21 and U18 downhill champion, scored Europa Cup points, and won NorAm titles for super-G and downhill. Allison made her World Cup debut in Crans Montana, Switzerland.

I wanted an option that would allow me to access prime morning training. USPA was the ideal solution. It allowed me to train and compete at the highest level, and also to complete courses at my own pace. That meant taking a couple summer courses to lighten my academic load in winter. Compared to my peers, I found I devoted more energy to skiing, and less to being stressed about school deadlines. They were far more worried, and I think it took more of a toll." – Allison Mollin
