About

Originally from Connecticut, Kathy attended Sacred Heart University, where she earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees. After graduating, she began her science career as a naturalist at the local zoo. Working there she realized her passion for teaching. She soon started teaching biology, chemistry and environmental science at a local high school until she moved to South Africa. During her time abroad, she continued to teach at an international school. In addition to teaching at the secondary level, Kathy has also been an adjunct professor at local universities. She has been involved with both the International Baccalaureate program and Advanced Placement program. Kathy is also a consultant for the National Math and Science Initiative (NMSI), which takes her around the country in the capacity of an educator and mentor. In her spare time, Kathy loves to be outdoors either hiking, kayaking, riding her horse and persuing her hobbie as a beekeeper.
