Remi – Hockey
‘Community’ – that’s how Remi, from Avon, CT defines the best part of his sport.
At US Performance Academy (USPA), our community culture is a really powerful thing. We kick start momentum, attack bigger possibilities and get excited about Monday mornings.
So does Remi. Remi’s goals are high. He just finished ninth-grade with USPA and plays Tier I hockey at the Seacoast Performance Academy. He’s had an intense year of hockey coupled with a customized classroom right at the rink!
“USPA allows me to focus on my dream, rather than being stuck in a classroom dreaming about my dream.” – Remi
Remi shows us a scar on his cheek from doing parkour, while talking about traveling to Moscow and Saint Petersburg to play. He thought the grandeur of the cities was amazing and a great life experience. His team, the Seacoast Performance Academy Spartans, played against teams in Russia, Sweden, Finland, Canada and all around the U.S.
Remi says he has come to understand that by shaping your current moment, the future will be better. He works on not allowing a game with a bad result to affect him, as the next week the loss will seem less significant if you keep working toward your goals. His goals include playing hockey in college and then professionally.
He is certainly a motivated young man. He had a strong showing at the USA Hockey New England Regional Camp. He made the choice to move to join UPSA to reach a higher level of competition within New England. Remi is a technical strong athletic goaltender who gives 100% effort every time he puts on the pads. His strong character on and off the ice make him a model citizen and we are proud to have him as part of USPA.
