Mason USPA Class of ‘21
CP Dynamo Defenseman Mason of Holland, Michigan chose USPA because of the success of other USPA student-athletes accepted into top DI schools. “My favorite part of being a student at USPA is the help I receive with anything at any time,” says Mason. “My teacher Liam is so good at getting back to me to help me with my classes. He has helped my academics significantly.”
“My hero is my dad. He’s my hero because of the hard work I see him put in day in and day out,” says Mason.
Mason’s mom bought him hockey gear for Christmas. He fell in love the moment he stepped on the ice. He says the best part of hockey is the relationships you make with coaches and teammates. The best advice he’s received is to focus on the things he is doing well in a game, rather than on what mistakes he’s making. He applies this to life as well. “I focus on the positive, happy things in my life,” says Mason.
Mason is on his path to play Division I hockey as a Defenseman in the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL). United as a single league in 2018, the USPHL and Eastern Hockey Federation (EHF) offer the best coaching, competition and player development through more than 500 teams from coast to coast. Both his league and his academic partner USPA are designed with one thing in mind: to give each player/student-athlete what they need to become their best, and have a great time doing it. At all levels of sport, USPA is committed to proper education, mentoring and overall development.
