Favorite quote: Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit however, it lasts forever.” – Lance Armstrong

Where would you like to be five years from now?
I would like to be in college to continue my education and hockey career. I want to play hockey at the highest level in college.
What are your favorite memories of your time with USPA?
One of my favorite memories is when we went on a field trip to Boda Borg and spent the day there. Another favorite memory of mine is when we had a Navy SEAL come and talk to us.
Who will you remember from USPA and why?
The one person I will remember most from USPA is Jana. She has always kept pushing me and gave me motivation to get my work done. She has been supportive and made me feel like I could do anything.
What person has been your biggest inspiration and why?
My biggest inspiration is definitely my whole family. Theyhelped me every step of the way while playing hockey and getting my education done. They have all kept me on the right track and have shown me nothing but love and care.
How would you like to make a difference in the world and why?
One goal I have is to make enough money to give back to my parents because they have worked very hard my whole life for me to be able to play hockey and attend USPA. I would like to give back and help make their lives easier because they work so hard for me.
What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned about life so far?
The biggest lesson I have learned about life so far is it’s too short to be worried about the little things and just focus on the things that you enjoy. Life should be lived and enjoyed because we only get one chance at this. There are no do overs.
What most excites you about taking the next steps in your life?
The thing that excites me the most is that I will be able to start a new chapter and experience a lot of different things and form new friendships with people I have never met before and start working towards a career.
“Austin you have a great left hook and one of the friendliest banters I know. Well done on finishing this long education road and best of luck in your future endeavors!” – Jonathan Kuiper, USPA Math Teacher
