With a career spanning the creative industries, education and technology, Liam brings a breadth of experience and skill to his position as Director of Operations at US Performance Academy.
Growing up in Northern Ireland, Liam moved to London to study at the age of 18. After graduating with a BA from the University of Essex, he then took a teaching degree at the University of East London, specialising in post-compulsory education and training with a focus on vocational and alternative education routes. Within a year of qualifying he was appointed to his first leadership role as a Director of Faculty.
During his career, Liam has led dynamic faculties in different international schools, launched degree programs and consistently been graded ‘Outstanding’ in both internal and external reviews for his teaching practice. He was selected to participate in a highly competitive educational leadership program and qualified as a school inspector, enabling him to participate in reviews of other schools whilst also, more importantly for him, placed him in a position to better support and develop the teachers within his own team.
Liam joined USPA as a Learning Coach and quickly drew on his experience in technology and project management, and his passion for flexible education models and student success, to rise to his current position as Director of Operations within his first year. He is passionate about removing obstacles and creating personalized learning experiences that champion and celebrate the needs of each individual student.
Liam is passionate about sustainability, equity and equality, and leads a vegan lifestyle that champions ethical and eco-friendly business practices. He enjoys being in nature and has a particular love of rowing on the Mediterranean sea off the coast of the city of Valencia, which he calls home. He also enjoys gymnastics, music, theatre and reading, as well as long walks with his dog, Elphaba.
